CarThera is a clinical stage French start-up that is developing SonoCloud, an implantable ultrasound probe array able to transiently open the Blood Brain Barrier (BBB) allowing to enhance the oncological drug (standard of care) uptake in the stimulated area for the treatment of brain tumors (e.g. Glioblastoma Multiforme - GBM).
SonoCloud aims at increasing the efficacy of several therapeutic solutions targeting the brain and potentially enabling new therapies.
The technology has the potential to be effective in several applications other than GBM, such as other brain tumors, Alzheimer and possibly other CNS and psychiatric pathologies.
